2011 Moon Cycle 3: new Moon in Pisces, full Moon in Virgo

Here are the Moon charts for March:

During this cycle we find the Sun and new Moon at 13° Pisces and the full Moon balanced against the Sun on the Virgo/Pisces axis at 28° Virgo. This is the third calendar cycle of the year and the twelfth -- and last -- in the astrological year.

Pisces signals the ending of matters and the over-riding theme at this time is the close of this year and the beginning of another. The full Moon preceeds the Spring Equinox by one day. As the astrological year starts, Uranus -- significator of inventors and innovators -- enters Aries, the sign of beginning and pioneers. Uranus has been in Pisces since 2003.

Follow up:

Taking a look at Uranus' influence during the last 7 years and what is anticipated by fellow astrologers, I found some truly interesting insights:

The new Moon

The Moon in Pisces is ruled by Neptune which is currently in the last degrees of Aquarius (it will enter Pisces in early April). There is a stellium in Pisces, which also includes Uranus, Mercury, Moon, Sun, Mars and Chiron; in all six bodies. As in the previous months the planets, lights and asteroids are grouped together, this time in one hemisphere from Aries to Libra, with the asteroid Juno outside the grouping in Virgo. This places an emphasis on Juno and, being in Virgo, she is in opposition to the stellium.

Trying to understand what role Juno might take in this arrangement, I found an intriguing exchange about Juno and betrayal at AllExperts.com where expert Zane B Stein's answer contained the following:

Juno IS connected to marriage. It shows one's power, or lack of it, in the marriage. It often describes many aspects of the marriage partner, and can be a good gauge if a person tends to attract partners that try to dominate the relationship, or that desire to surrender their power to the partner. Basically, you can get a good idea about the equality, or lack of it, with one's partner by looking to Juno.

It can also, though, show what you mentioned....about betrayal. Again, it is an issue of power. When we let ourselves be betrayed, in the same way, more than once, we have an issue where we do not take ownership of our power, or at least not all of it. Taking responsibility for this ... for our own power, and the consequences of using it....will free us from succumbing to issues of betrayal.

Juno's position in Virgo vs. that of the remaining planets, lights and asteroids in Pisces speaks of power issues in a partnership opposing everything else.

The U.S.

This lunar cycle begins with the Sun-Moon dyad and the stellium in Pisces spanning the 4th & 5th houses. Ceres and Neptune in Aquarius are conjunct the natal Moon and Pallas Athena. This mix emphasizes family and home, especially Mother.

The natal configuration of Moon-Pallas in Aquarius and in the 4th house speaks of an innovative, original populace skilled at bringing its creations to market. Lately there's been much bemoaning the loss of manufacturing in the U.S and lack of innovation. Americans are as innovative as ever. But their efforts are overshadowed and just plain thwarted by Big Oil and Big Business wanting to maintain the status quo. Neptune moving into Pisces may further entrench Big Oil, or may prove to be its downfall. Time with tell. One thing's for sure, the supply of oil will eventually be exhausted.

The full Moon

The full Moon balances Sun against Moon on the Virgo/Pisces axis. While the Sun is still entrenched in the Piscean stellium, the Moon has swung around to the opposite side of the zodiac, passing Juno on the way. Essentially conditions are the same as they were at the new Moon, except that the cool logic of the Moon in Virgo may shed some light on Juno's influence. Uranus has just entered fiery Aries. With the Moon in opposition, you may see some erratic behaviors and unexpected changes.

The U.S.

The full Moon this month is in the 11th house, leaving Virgo and entering Libra. Ruler of the 11th is Uranus, posited in the 5th and opposing the Moon. Please recall that we talked about Uranus earlier; it seems to be the key. Areas influenced by the Moon are friends and acquaintances of like mind; by Sun and Uranus recreational and leisure activities.
