Follow up:
The Moon in Gemini places an emphasis on siblings, daily communications, and short trips (commuting). Natives of Gemini are quick, intellectual and inquisitive. For a good description of a Gemini native, take a look at this article at Cafe Astrology. The section on Moon in Gemini is particularly interesting.
The site Real Astrologers has some interesting things to say about this new Moon in the article titled "New Moon in Gemini, June 12, 2010." In particular there is the following:
As I mentioned in my weekly forecast, we may read about new solutions for some of the sticky problems in the news lately, most notably the gulf oil spew (I didn?t coin that phrase, but I think it describes the situation much better than ?spill?). These developments may cause a flurry of excitement, but don?t be surprised or disappointed if the results are just temporary. There are more big changes ahead, and every time you change one element of a situation, something else gets thrown out of balance and needs readjustment.
This new Moon occupies the U.S.'s 8th house and is closely conjunct natal Mars. All are in the sign Gemini. Fast-paced, somewhat scattered happenings in the area of financial relations with foreign countries are suggested. Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, is in the 7th house conjunct natal Uranus, which suggests grumbling and inflammatory propaganda in the area of treaties, and among organized citizens' groups. Conspiracy theories may be heard everywhere.

The full Moon
This full Moon follows the Summer Solstice on the 22nd, when the Sun reaches its most northern extreme due to the Earth's tilt. Here in Alaska the days grow longer as the solstice approaches and in some areas the Sun doesn't set at that time. This article in the Wikipedia explains a lot. It's worth noting that this is the southern hemisphere's winter solstice.
The full Moon this month is in Capricorn, opposed by the Sun in Cancer. In fact, there's a T-square with many planetary participants. Here's what Real Astrologer Pat says about this in her answer a query from a reader:
...I?d like to reassure you that the events of this summer are affecting the entire world, not just you. The cardinal T-square, which at times will be a grand cross, is something we haven?t witnessed on this planet since history began. It?s big, and already it?s translating into sweeping events such as the BP oil spew, the eruption of Eyjafjallajökull volcano, escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, and global financial crises, to name a few. And we?re just getting started?
While big changes are indeed afoot, when I hear astrological predictions of doom, I'm reminded of a little story an astrologer friend told me. She was looking at the chart of a good friend and saw mayhem concerning her friend's house there. She called her friend to see what was going on and maybe warn her. Her friend reported that she was in the middle of having her kitchen remodelled, the house was in a state of disorder and many routines were disrupted. But all by choice.
At this time the full Moon is in the 2nd house conjunct a retrograde Pluto. In opposition are the Sun conjunct natal Venus and Jupiter; all are ruled by the Moon. The ruler of the 2nd house is Jupiter.
Banks, the Stock Exchange, financial institutions, money markets and trade are entities related to the 2nd house. The Moon in Capricorn has attributes of ambition, discipline, stability, responsibility, determination and a tendency toward the traditional. Her influence can also be dogmatic, negative, materialistic, melancholic, and stern (Moon in Capricorn).
The asteroid Pallas Athena has been hovering around the U.S.'s ascendant for a while now. One of her areas of influence is industry; she is also associated with people skilled in their crafts and crusaders. Bob Marks the astrologer says about Pallas in Scorpio:
A really good placement for a therapist, detective, spy, or criminal! Scorpio loves to go deep into the underworld and come back with riches. If there is a subtle, secretive way of solving a problem, you will be the one to find it. Pallas in Scorpio can also make you obsessed with finding solutions to problems, or figuring out a secret and obscure pattern. Of course, it is also good at finding the best way to heal and rehabilitate, and is excellent for helping others manage their money and resources. If the rest of the chart agrees, there will also be the potential for changing the values of any group that you belong to, including the society in which you live.
