Full Moon @ 21° Cancer 02′

It's somewhat late, but still applicable -- the full Moon chart for February:

  • February 9th: Full Moon at 21° Cancer 02′
  • A full Moon/U.S.natal comparison chart
  • Note also that preceding the full Moon opposition, there was a penumbral lunar eclipse, also at 21° Aquarius 00′.

Follow up:

Here in Anchorage the full Moon looked lovely this month, — it was large and bright and an eye-catching icy-blue. On my way to work on Tuesday, I noted it again — this time large, pale red and hanging on the western horizon behind a stand of birches. It reminded me of a Wolf Kahn painting.

Jeff Jawer at stariq.com says about the full Moon this month:

This Full Moon is a Lunar Eclipse that can clip the wings of exaggerated ideas and overinflated egos. Emotions are easily dramatized in expressive Leo, possibly provoking power struggles or moments when childish needs for attention undermine group cohesion. Desiring recognition for individual achievement is healthy as long as it doesn?t reduce the ability to work as a cooperative member of a team.

I strongly recommend that you browse to realAstrologers.com for Neith's post about the full Moon and associated lunar eclipse. Here's a sample of what she has to say:

Eclipses come in pairs, with the solar eclipse followed by a lunar eclipse, and this Full Moon in Leo is the lunar eclipse of this set opposing another huge stellium in Aquarius. We are being reminded once more of the necessity of looking beyond our immediate circle of family and friends to consider the needs of the many and how we as individuals are connected to humanity as a whole.

At the Full Moon, the Sun is part of a waxing conjunction with both Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius, illuminating the possibility of healing the wounds of alienation created by emphasizing differences rather than commonalities. Neptune and Chiron both promote healing through acceptance and understanding and the necessity of treating ourselves and others with compassion and kindness. We have the choice of opening our hearts and minds to an inclusive vision of humanity, and if we do so, we can add our bit to making our little corner of the world a better place to live.

What I noticed about this full Moon...

The congregation of planets and lights filling the span from the beginning of Capricorn to the end of Pisces is beginning to disperse. There is still a stellium in Aquarius with Sun, Chiron, and Neptune applying to a conjunct with the U.S.'s natal Moon.

In the U.S.'s natal chart the Moon is conjunct Pallas Athena in Aquarius in the fourth House, which speaks of America's industry and industrial aptitude and can-do attitude. With Neptune and Chiron and a Sun at nadir (its low point) coming conjunct this dyad, we are feeling that despite our good intentions for fixing broken economy (government, health care, environment -- you name it), we are being held back by the machine in power. And that machine is out-of-control.

America was born from a revolution. It may have to be re-born from a revolution.
