Fire sign inspiration and dynamic energy has been in short supply for quite awhile now, so the Full Moon at 21° 51′ Aries on October 14 will inject some much-needed leavening into the atmosphere, if only temporarily.

Often the secret is letting go of preconceived notions and ideas and cultivating a sense of innocent joy. On the Full Moon, Mercury in Libra is virtually at a standstill, preparing to go direct almost exactly 24 hours after the Full Moon. We gradually will see the unleashing of all that has been on hold for the past three weeks while Mercury was retrograde. Mercury is closely semi-sextile Mars in Scorpio, and this rather irritating aspect asks us to think before we speak to avoid causing hurt feelings when remaining silent will better serve us in the long run.

Another fly in the ointment is a square between Venus in Scorpio, Libra's ruling planet, and Neptune in Aquarius. Here we can get caught up in unrealistic expectations, especially where our loved ones are concerned. Scorpio's need to rehash all the details, important or not, could really spoil the mood too. Venus will move into Sagittarius on October 18, just four days after the Full Moon, and lighten things up considerably. Keep in mind the Libra principal of catching more flies with honey instead of vinegar to avoid sabotaging your relationships inadvertently.

This Full Moon provides us with tools and concepts we can draw on in the days and weeks ahead to work with the challenges the Saturn-Uranus opposition heralds. We are definitely experiencing the final throes of Pluto's march through Sagittarius now and getting some idea what his move into Capricorn will bring. As the Sabian symbols suggest, we can find our way to abundance through togetherness and cooperation while holding within ourselves the joy of solicitude for others. As always, practice kindness and forgiveness, starting with yourself and then extending it to others.

There are 2 Yods in this chart:

• Yod no.1: Saturn in Virgo sextile Venus in Scorpio with the Moon is Aries quincunx (at the focus of the pattern).
• Yod no.2: Moon in Aries sextile Neptune in Aquarius with Saturn in Virgo quincunx. Uranus in Pisces is conjunct the midpoint of the sextile and opposes Saturn.

Yod no.l is mostly about relationships; Yod no.2 is a variation on the Uranus/Neptune interplay that has been going on for months/years (since they're both slow-moving planets).

Since the Moon in Yod no.2 is in "favorable" aspect to Neptune, I'm quoting Michael Munkasey's (Midpoints: Unleashing the Power of the Planets, 1991) positive interpretation of the aspect:

Production of chemical, oil, food, or manufactured goods; dreams about agricultural produce, production, or policy; a leadership which heeds the opinions and emotional climate of its constituents.

Quincunx/in opposition and confusing the issues are Saturn/Uranus:

Restrictions on personal contacts due to political situations which are beyond an enterprise's jurisdiction; control of access to political dissidents; sudden indifference by people to traditional mores or laws. (Munkasey)

Add the Moon's influence to the Saturn/Uranus basis:

Protection of traditional procedures from radical changes; new ways of protecting family or home traditions; rebellion against traditional methods of raising children; fickleness over innovative work. (Munkasey)

And Neptune's:

As a side note, the U.S. natal chart has a Yod of its own: natal Mercury in Cancer sextile natal Neptune in Virgo with the natal Moon in Aquarius quincunx.

Mostly, I see the cusp of the 11th house (hopes, wishes, projects and ambitions), framed by Saturn (a sober and taciturn Chief Executive) in the 10th and Neptune (the Treasury beseiged by delusion and unlikely promises) in the 11th. In opposition is Uranus on the cusp of the 5th representing the pork-barrel Senate. I tend to agree with Will Smith in Independence Day: "It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings."
