What some other astrologers have to say...
Taking a look at what my favorite astrologers have to say about this full Moon:

  • Lisa Dale Miller at Astrowisdom.com

The Full Moon in Gemini is supposed to be a time of freely speaking one's mind; but watch out, with overblown Jupiter conjunct ever-intense Pluto in Sagittarius and blunt Mercury in Scorpio, putting one's foot in one's mouth may be hard to avoid. On the other hand, these planets will create a tidal wave of humanitarian feelings right on schedule for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Remember, when diversity (Gemini) and communality (Sagittarius), meet revelation (Uranus in Pisces), generosity (Jupiter) and transformative thinking (Mercury in Scorpio), great things (Sun) can happen to transform (Pluto) a bleak and disconnected world (Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius).

The grand square of Sun/Moon/Saturn/Nodal Axis along with Mercury in Scorpio and Jupiter/Pluto in Sagittarius will challenge us to look fear straight in the eye and play with the possibility of changing our fixed ideas about how everything we think we believe is true. Think meaning questioning the validity of our thoughts as truth; believe... meaning allowing the free-flowing energy of the Moon in Gemini to loosen our attachment to codified, dogmatic truths.

  • Jeffrey Kishner at Lunar Tunes Astrology begins

The Gemini Full Moon features the stressful opposition between the Sagittarius Sun and the Gemini Moon. It is a culmination point, when information comes to light. However, do not trust the news during this lunation. Gemini's ruling planet, Mercury, is in Scorpio in an exact (partile) square to Neptune. Mercury-Neptune is the aspect of deception and lies, confusion and delusion. Poetic language may be nothing more than a veil covering over the ugly truth. And with Mercury in Scorpio, how can the information that's been exhumed be anything but dark and dirty? The gossip pages will likely offer "suggested" evidence regarding a celebutante's or politician's sexual proclivities, accompanied by the Neptunian spin of his or her publicist, denying the facts without actually stating that nothing happened.

  • Jeff Jawer at starIQ.com in his New Moon Report:

This normally bright and breezy Sun-Moon opposition sprinkles ideas and information across a wide landscape. Now stern Saturn squares both luminaries to diminish the potential for brilliance. Exciting conversations and concepts can be sidetracked by mundane responsibilities and practical limitations. When it comes to ideas, only the strong survive because there's less tolerance for random theories. Avoid an information overload or talking when listening is really the key to connecting.

My take...
   On the full Moon

There are many squares in this chart -- 11 total -- and a grand cross involving Sun, Moon, North Node and Saturn in mutable signs. And there is a grand trine between Mercury, Mars and Uranus in water.

Here is a definition of a square from Astrology.com

The essence of a square is friction. Things happen, and they're no small matter. The energy surrounding a square is forceful, intense and power-laden. It's effect on the individual will be to spur them to action, to cause decisions to be made. The risk to the individual influenced by a square is to ignore this Aspect's unmistakable energy. This Aspect will not be managed effectively until its force field and message are addressed. To illustrate the point, an individual with their Sun square Mercury might be expected to have difficulty when speaking. The lesson of this square will be to do the work necessary in order to speak more effectively.

Regarding the grand cross -- because it involves the full Moon, it's a given that emotion and willpower will be at odds. "A lack of will to fulfill the social rituals needed to maintain your relationships; not caring about the quality of your life with others; feelings that your friends do not seriously take you into their confidence" are the more negative notes of this Sun/Moon aspect according to Michael Munkasey (Midpoints: Unleashing the Power of the Planets, 1991). Square this is the delinquency of Saturn in Virgo and confusion due to the North Node in Pisces. The Node/Pisces relationship indicates a tendency to retreat from others when you really need their counsel and advice; and to avoid confrontation.

On the full Moon as it relates to the U.S. natal chart

This grand cross connects closest with the U.S. natal chart by means of an exact square between transiting Saturn in the 10th house and the US's natal Uranus on the cusp of the eighth. Because it is a grand cross the transiting Sun/Moon are opposite/conjunct Uranus, as well. Also the transiting Sun/Moon are square the natal Moon, but out-of-sign (not both in mutable signs, but mutable to fixed).

The Sun transiting the US's first house indicates that this is a time for individuals to let go of all that is worn out and superficial and to bring what thay can across into their personal lives. New information may emerge that catches the nation's whole attention.

The Moon transiting the seventh house relates to relationships and legal matters. The public may feel blocked or frustrated emotionally by current legal policies or by living conditions in general. It may feel like some avenues of support have been cut off or blocked. Arguments of an emotional kind could be easy to find; but given the tendency to retreat from/avoid confrontation posed by the North Node, argument is unlikely. I suspect that a great deal of suppressed anger is building up.

One final note concerns the North Node exactly conjunct Pallas Athena. I've just begun to look at asteriods and find that their influence can be powerful where the sign Virgo is emphasized. Since Pallas is relatively new to the astrological pantheon, qualities ascribed to her/it vary widely. Matrix software's Astrotutor states:

Pallas - Politics and government, strategies to win approval, fight for causes, justice, defending the underdog, career orientation, efficiency, assertion, creative intellect, struggle to balance masculine and feminine issues.

Pallas in the fourth house and conjunct the North Node suggests that justice at home may be served, after all. Of course a lot depends on your vantage point.
