New Moon 27° Aries 05′

Here is the chart for this New Moon.

In keeping with my practice, here are links to articles discussing this new Moon by

  • Lisa Dale Miller at astrowisdom.com talks this month about the nature of the sign Aries and possibilities presented by the new Moon:

If your life is in upheaval, this is the best time to set your intention and make change happen your way. The New Moon in Aries is the best time to create a ritual for figuring out exactly what you want; no matter how hard the solution, no matter the amount of despair and hopelessness. Renewal is a matter of changing our perspective to include the magical and imaginative realms of possibility; especially with Sun/Moon/Mercury in impulsive, quick-minded Aries, Uranus and Mars in imaginative Pisces, Venus in all possibilities Gemini, and Jupiter in generous and hopeful Sagittarius. These planetary placements will make it possible to dive back into a childlike world where if it can be thought, it can be made to happen.

  • Jeffrey Kishner at LunarTunes describes how this new Moon might affect you personally:

But what direction do you take? Do you want to jumpstart your dating life? Take the next step in your career? Upgrade your house? At the Aries New Moon, we all feel the need to take initiative, but our natal charts show us how and where we take that important first step.

The New Moon always falls in a house in your chart, an area of experience such as work, home, marriage, health and so on. The house where Aries sits on the cusp is where we naturally have a go-to-it attitude, jumping in without worrying about consequences -- a place where we feel impulsive and pioneering. This part of your life may feel dormant until a planet transits the house, or your natal Mars (the ruler of Aries) is stimulated by transit or progression.

  • Michelle Bailey-Lessirard at New Moon Journal lists the new Moons in 2007 and offers a number of intriguing tidbits. Follow the link to flickr.com to view collages people have submitted to the site.

Referring to Jeffrey Kishner's talk about what house this Aries new Moon falls in, you can make an educated guess if you don't have a chart. After all astrology is a symbolic language, so you don't have to be exact.

If you were born on October 14, your Sun sign is Libra. There are 12 signs and 12 houses. From a solar point of view then, Libra rules your first house and Aries rules your seventh house. A person born on the 4th of July would have Cancer in their solar first house and Aries in the tenth. These positions should be read as pertaining to individual matters and things symbolized by the Sun.

Alternately, if you know your rising sign (determined by the time of day you were born, and the longitude and latitude of the place), you can use a fixed house system (all houses contain 30°) to determine where Aries is in your chart. If Pisces is ascending, Aries is on the cusp of the second house; if Virgo is ascending, Aries is on the eighth house cusp; and so on.
